Compact and efficient

At the core of BgtL’s system solutions is proprietary compact technology provided by BgtL’s sister company, CompRex, LLC. Compact heat exchanger, heat exchange reactors, and extractors all incorporate a proprietary dolphin flow design with high surface area-to-volume ratio. This unique internal design allows for breakthrough advances in heat exchange efficiency and temperature control, factors that are critical in highly endothermic or exothermic reactions and in maintaining catalyst efficiency.

Recent testing has proven the unparalleled efficiency of our compact technology, as our pilot GTL skid produced FT liquid fuels at over 70% conversion rate in a single pass with low methane selectivity and mostly syncrude and low wax output.

Modular and mobile

With enhanced heat and mass transfer, BgtL’s compact reactors can be significantly smaller (up to 5-10x) than conventional tube and slurry reactors and other microreactors as well. These shop-fabricated and truck-shippable skids require minimal field assembly and installation onsite. Scale-up risk is reduced from use of standardized components and by combining multiple standardized modules.

Versatile and economical

BgtL’s compact solutions have a wide range of applications and can make high temperature and pressure processes economically viable even on the small scale. Aside from enabling higher reaction efficiency and increased selectivity, their compactness reduces both upfront capital investment costs and long-term operating and maintenance costs from reduced catalyst requirements and easy access to critical components.
